We are a commercial organization generating leads from multiple clients, including DNOs, private commercial entities, NHS, airports, and large manufacturing customers operating in a commercial environment.

About The Role

As a Trainee Engineer, you will hold at least a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or a HNC in Electrical Engineering with previous engineering experience), with skills transferable to our business. You will undergo a one-year intensive training program to familiarize yourself with Electricity North West, including our electrical engineering contracting business, working on public and private networks from low to extra high voltage, designing, and constructing electrical infrastructure and generation.

Upon successful completion of your training, you will be employed in a design or project role, responsible for delivering a varied portfolio of work on LV & HV distribution networks, ensuring projects meet time, cost, and quality targets, and comply with health and safety legislation and company standards. You will have opportunities for further on-the-job training, as well as technical, commercial, and leadership development courses tailored to your personal growth plan.

Principal responsibilities of the substantive role (post-training)

  • Control and monitor resources, schedule work, and maximize productivity.
  • Act as an escalation point for customer, site, and office teams regarding project delivery.
  • Drive excellent customer service, identify risks or complaints, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Report on project progress, costs, and timelines to relevant managers.
  • Ensure projects are programmed timely, with proper documentation and adherence to client SLAs and financial targets.
  • Review and ensure the accuracy and quality of project outputs and data.
  • Promote the company's reputation through professional behavior and appearance.
  • Identify future sales opportunities and support business development activities.
  • Stand in for other project team members as needed.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility for personal development.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, analytical skills, and ability to produce technical reports.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Full UK driving license.
