Job summary

Envireau Ltd is seeking an Environmental Technician to join a technical, diverse and agile team dedicated to water resource management. You will gather and analyse field data, support environmental assessments, and participate in water management projects across the UK.

The role requires driving in the UK, strong numerical and data reporting skills, and a proactive attitude. We offer hybrid working, professional development, and a supportive environment.

Qualifications

  • BSc in environmental/earth sciences or equivalent apprenticeship or practical experience.
  • Experience in field-based environmental consulting or water management is helpful but not required.
  • Strong numerical, data collection and reporting skills; Excel/ArcGIS experience desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, record, process and analyse field data for diverse projects; support mapping and outputs with Excel and ArcGIS.
  • Design and conduct groundwater and surface water sampling, pump tests, site supervision and data collection across sites.
  • Maintain field equipment, ensure calibration and accuracy of collected data.
  • Collaborate with clients during site visits, communicating progress and activities clearly.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations for on-site work.

Job description

As an Environmental Technician, you will play a critical part in delivering our services. You will join a technically excellent, diverse, hardworking, and agile team of professionals, where your achievements are celebrated, and your professional development encouraged.

Responsibilities
  • Gathering, recording, processing, and analysing field data for a variety of projects, including supporting the wider team in producing figures, mapping, and outputs using software such as Excel and ArcGIS; contributing to environmental assessments, flood risk evaluations, and water management projects.
  • Designing and conducting groundwater and surface water sampling and monitoring, pump testing, site supervision, and data collection activities across various sites, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Ensuring all field equipment is maintained, calibrated, and in optimal working condition to guarantee the quality of collected data.
  • Working closely with clients during site visits, maintaining professionalism, and providing clear communication about field activities and project progress.
  • Adhering to all health and safety regulations while on-site, ensuring safe working conditions for yourself and others.
Qualifications and experience
  • A BSc in an environmental/earth sciences field, equivalent apprenticeship or experience.
  • Previous experience in a field-based role within environmental consulting or water management is advantageous but not essential. Candidates are asked to demonstrate an appreciation of how transferable experience applies.
  • A positive, self-starting, and flexible attitude with a genuine interest in learning and growth.
  • A passion for hands-on work, strong numerical skills, and a meticulous approach to data collection and reporting, with experience in Excel and ArcGIS desirable.
  • A willingness and desire to travel throughout the UK for site work, coupled with a positive attitude and a passion for exploring new locations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • A full UK Driving License is essential.

Salary and benefits
  • Salary of £27,000 to £32,000 dependent on experience
  • Permanent, full-time contract (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday)
