Job summary

VRS Recruitment seeks an early career environmental risk assessor to join a scientific consultancy. You will undertake environmental risk assessments with emphasis on chemical exposure under UK/EU regulatory frameworks, including REACH, Biocides and medicines.

The role involves conducting exposure and risk assessments, developing PEC/PNEC assessments and RCRs, exposure modelling, reviewing data, and preparing Chemical Safety Reports for diverse clients.

Qualifications

• Experience in environmental risk assessment, exposure modelling or chemical risk assessment.
• Knowledge of UK/EU REACH, EUSES, TRA, CHESAR, RISKOFDERM and SimpleTreat would be valuable.
• A scientific background in environmental science, chemistry, ecotoxicology, toxicology or a related discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental exposure and risk assessments
• Develop PEC/PNEC assessments and Risk Characterisation Ratios (RCRs)
• Undertake exposure modelling using relevant modelling tools
• Develop and refine exposure scenarios
• Review environmental fate, ecotoxicity, emissions and monitoring data
• Prepare Chemical Safety Reports
• Provide clear technical and regulatory advice to clients
