A leading water services provider in the UK is seeking an Environmental Programme Coordinator to lead low flow river restoration schemes. The role involves project management, stakeholder engagement, and compliance with environmental obligations. Candidates should have experience leading complex projects and a good understanding of environmental legislation. The position offers a salary between £37,000 – £48,000 and various employee benefits.
We’re more than just a water company. We're dedicated to making a positive impact on the environment, sustainability, and the communities we serve. By joining us, you’ll work with the latest technologies, driving forward‑thinking projects that enhance and protect national infrastructure, making a real difference to the communities we serve.
With nearly 10,000 colleagues, we’re looking for brilliant people who are passionate about sustainability, eager to innovate, and ready to turn challenges into opportunities for a better future.
Our Sustainable Abstraction team has an excellent opportunity to join as our new Environmental Programme Coordinator.
In this role you will lead the coordination of our low flow river restoration schemes. You will also support the WINEP Lead Project Manager to coordinate and ensure the successful delivery of our Water Resources WINEP programme.
This will be done by working in partnership with internal teams such as capital delivery and technical experts, as well as delivery partners such as Wildlife and River Trusts, to undertake feasibility, design, and delivery of the agreed schemes.
For the river restoration schemes you’ll lead and coordinate all parties and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of our environmental obligations. This will involve stakeholder management with our regulator, the Environment Agency, and contract and commercial management of Environmental Non‑Government Organisations (ENGO) who support us on delivering these programmes of work. You’ll also support the establishment of monitoring needs and maintenance plans for these schemes once delivered.
You’ll also support our WINEP Lead Project Manager to coordinate the successful delivery of our wider AMP8 programme of environmental investigations and improvements. This will mean working closely with the different WINEP technical workstreams within the Sustainable Abstraction Team.
To be successful in this role you’ll have experience leading complex projects, working collaboratively with consultants and stakeholders. You will champion robust governance practices across all aspects of scheme delivery, ensuring compliance, transparency and continuous improvement in project oversight.
Additionally, it would be desirable if you had knowledge of environmental legislation, water resources management and an understanding of WINEP.
At times you’ll be required to travel to sites anywhere on the Severn Trent patch, so you must hold a full U.K. driving licence.
