Job summary

MWH Treatment is seeking an Environmental Planner to join the Enabling team in the Thames Region. You will bridge feasibility, design and construction to ensure a smooth progression from scoping to site start, delivering timely environmental deliverables.

Essentially you will advise during design on environmental consenting, coordinate EIA and planning requirements, and manage environmental tasks across the project lifecycle with support from the client and regulators where required.

Qualifications

• Essential knowledge of environmental management and consenting processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication and negotiating skills.
• Good IT skills with ability to use project tools and databases.
• Effective time and workload management with flexible approach.
• Full driving licence.
• Desirable project management experience from an environmental perspective.

Responsibilities

• Advise project team at design and planning stages on environmental consenting requirements.
• Identify and coordinate EIA and town planning requirements for planning applications.
• Provide front end advice on consenting processes and timescales to inform construction programme.
• Offer environmental project management to ensure timely completion of environmental deliverables.
• Coordinate with designers and managers to confirm environmental scopes of work and deliverables.
• Support with GIS mapping and environmental constraint analyses.
• Engage with Local Planning Authorities and regulators as required.
• Coordinate documentation for environmental consents (e.g., EA consents, permits, notices).
• Assist with biodiversity targets as stipulated by the Client.
