Job description

We are Cunningham. We are currently seeking an experienced and talented Environmental Manager to join our high performing team.

REPORTING TO: SHEQ Lead

LOCATION: Newry, Head Office

CONTRACT TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

HOURS: Monday - Friday (8am-5pm Monday-Thursday, 8am-2.30pm Fridays)

Role Responsibilities

§ Lead the planning and execution of a company-wide Environmental project

§ Manage project budgets, timelines, and risks effectively.

§ Implement a light project management structure to environmental strategic initiatives

§ Monitor and report on projects progress.

§ Stay informed on relevant environmental/sustainability trends and best practices to inform strategy

§ Identify and engage with internal/external stakeholders to ensure project success.

§ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate environmental considerations into broader project goals

§ Develop and implement staff engagement campaigns to ensure success of related environmental projects.

§ Create and implement KPIs to measure environmental impact and engagement success

§ Coordinate sustainability champions or green teams across retail network

§ Recommend process improvements

§ Assist with carbon footprint reporting and development

The Candidate

Qualifications & Experience:

§ Degree in Environmental Studies, Sustainability, Communications, Project Management, or related field is preferred.

§ Experience managing projects, preferably in Construction sustainability

§ Ability to coordinate across teams and translate project goals into practical actions

§ Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

§ Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and strategic oversight

§ Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

§ The ability to work as part of cross-functional teams.

§ Excellent communicator, with ability to convey complex information well.

§ The ability to create and maintain good working relationships with colleagues and clients.

§ Highly organised in relation to management of tasks and deadlines.

§ Good attention to detail.

§ Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Additional information

§ All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK and in the Republic of Ireland at the time of application. Proof of this will be required for any candidate who is successful in the role.

§ This role will at time to time, require working in other locations, including construction sites or at client offices. A degree of flexibility is therefore required.
