Job description
Overview

Allen & York are delighted to be working with a leading airport in the south west of England as they recruit an Environmental Management Specialist to sit in the Planning & Corporate Affairs Team and be an integral part of delivering their Sustainability Strategy. Reporting to the Head of Sustainability and Social Value, you will provide expert advice on a range of issues, including waste, water, air quality, noise and carbon management. A strong emphasis on carbon management is essential, and stakeholder engagement with multiple internal and external parties is a key part of the role.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain the Airport\'s carbon model to ensure carbon reduction targets are achieved.
  • Help deliver key sustainability projects, including solar installations and a planned Energy Centre.
  • Prepare sustainability disclosures for annual accounts such as ESOS and SECR.
  • Provide expert advice on waste, water, air quality, noise and carbon management.
  • Engage with numerous departments internally and externally to foster effective stakeholder relationships.
Qualifications
  • Relevant degree; Associate Member of IEMA; experience in environmental management and carbon management.
  • Self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to forge strong relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Experience in the infrastructure sector, specifically aviation, is advantageous but an interest in the sector and willingness to learn is important.
Working Model

Based on site at the airport, there is a hybrid working model: you will be able to work from home two to three days a week, but initially you will be required to attend the offices three days a week.
