Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Laboratory Scientist to join the Environmental Sciences team at Alconbury, near Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. The role supports biodegradation, animal metabolism and dermal penetration studies within environmental fate and plant metabolism projects.

You will perform a range of validated laboratory assays, review data, maintain documentation and work with LIMS software in a regulated GLP environment while collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Degree in Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biomedical Science, Microbiology, Pharmacology or Environmental Sciences.
• Experience in a fast paced regulated laboratory setting with SOPs and study protocols.
• Familiarity with GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory assays following standard procedures and study protocols.
• Critically review processes and study plans, suggesting changes where appropriate.
• Review own work for accuracy, timeliness, and technical soundness.
• Maintain study documentation alongside client and regulatory expectations.
• Use of LIMS software.
• Contributing to method development and validation projects.
• Maintain a safe and organized laboratory environment.
