Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley is seeking a SHEQ Advisor (Environmental) to support safety and environmental plans across our projects in the water, energy and environment sectors. You will work with Design and Construction teams to ensure compliance and drive improvements.

The role requires IOSH/CMIOSH or Chartered Environmental professional, construction experience, strong communication, and willingness to travel and stay overnight as needed.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience supporting safety and environmental plans in complex environments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong analytical ability.
• Certified member of IOSH/CMIOSH H&S professional or Chartered/Experienced Environmental professional.
• Experience working within construction.
• Willingness to travel and stay overnight occasionally.
• Knowledge of quality management systems and product quality processes.

Responsibilities

• Carry out site inspections, advisory visits, investigations, and briefings, acting as a visible and hands‑on champion of Health, Safety & Environmental best practice.
• Manage and record a structured programme of Safety and Environmental site visits including inspections, advisory visits, and engagement tours to ensure compliance with the Safety and Environmental Management Systems.
• Attend pre‑site meetings to provide expert Health, Safety & Environmental guidance prior to project commencement.
• Support incident investigations by gathering evidence, conducting interviews, and producing reports in line with Safety/Environmental Management System procedures.
• Act as a key point of contact for Design and Construction teams, providing H&S and Environmental advice.
• Develop and deliver H&S/Environmental training as required.
