Job summary

Triumph Consultants Ltd is seeking an experienced Environmental Health Technician to investigate housing complaints, carry out property inspections, and support housing enforcement in Exeter. The role requires liaising with residents, landlords and partner agencies.

This 10-month contract is based in Exeter with hybrid working (3 days per week in the office). A Basic DBS and relevant Environmental Health qualification or experience are required.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification or experience in Environmental Health or Housing.
• Experience in housing complaints, HMO licensing and property inspections.
• HHSRS training and an Award in Understanding and Applying HHSRS.
• Knowledge of housing legislation, including the Renters’ Rights Act 2025.
• Full driving licence and own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Investigate housing complaints and inspect properties, HMOs and mobile home sites.
• Assess housing conditions and support enforcement action.
• Support HMO licensing, Disabled Facilities Grants and empty homes investigations.
• Provide advice to residents, landlords and partner agencies.
• Maintain accurate case records and provide evidence for court or tribunal proceedings.

Job description

Triumph Consultants are looking for an experienced Environmental Health Technician to investigate housing complaints, carry out property inspections and support housing enforcement. Pay Rate: £16.35 per hour PAYE

Hybrid working: 3 days per week in the office

DBS: Basic DBS required

Key Requirements
