Job summary

A local government council in Gainsborough is seeking a part-time Environmental Health Technical Officer. Job Summary

Band 7-9 £31,022 to £40,777 per annum (pro rata), also including an essential car user allowance.

Based at the Guildhall, Gainsborough (with provision to work from home).

13 hours per week, permanent.

Career graded style post, subject to qualifications and experience.

Role Overview

We are looking to appoint an Environmental Health Technical Officer on a permanent, but part time basis and provide them with an opportunity to develop their career. The role may also be of interest to individuals who already hold qualifications and are looking for a new challenge.

Whether you are qualified or not, if you have a good attitude and a desire to learn and make a difference then we would like to hear from you.

The role will focus mainly on the Environmental Protection work areas and will also contribute to the wider environmental health function. The candidate needs to have a basic grounding in regulatory type work and during their employment will be provided with an opportunity to either become a fully certified Environmental Health Officer; obtain a Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control or; a NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities across the salary banding range from providing basic technical support to the work area and undertaking basic case work and extend to those undertaken by a fully qualified Environmental Health Officer.
