Job summary

SSR Personnel is recruiting a Senior EHSS Advisor to support a respected international manufacturing and technology organisation. You will shape Environmental, Health, Safety, Security and Sustainability standards across multiple UK sites, partnering with senior leadership to drive governance and continuous improvement.

You will lead multi-site EHSS programmes, maintain ISO 14001/45001/22301, deliver audits, coaching and training, and influence culture and resilience across facilities in the UK.

Qualifications

  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent required.
  • -
  • IEMA Qualified and IOSH Certified preferred.
  • Experience with multi-site EHSS programmes and audits.

Responsibilities

  • Support deployment of EHSS strategy across UK sites.
  • Lead internal audits and ensure alignment with ISO standards.
  • Maintain ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 22301 management systems.
  • Coordinate audit programmes and support external certification.
  • Conduct site inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations.
  • Report EHSS performance to senior stakeholders and drive improvement.
  • Coach and train managers and site teams on EHSS best practices.
  • Support sustainability initiatives including environmental reporting.

We are recruiting an exceptional Senior EHSS Advisor to join a highly respected international organisation operating within a complex, highly regulated manufacturing and technology environment. This is a career-defining opportunity for an ambitious EHSS professional who wants to make a genuine impact across multiple locations while working closely with senior leadership to shape standards, governance and best practice

The Opportunity

As Senior EHSS Advisor, you will work closely with the EHSS Director to support and develop a robust Environmental, Health, Safety, Security and Sustainability framework across multiple UK locations including manufacturing facilities, technical operations, laboratories and corporate environments

You will play a key role in driving consistency, compliance and continuous improvement while ensuring all sites remain audit-ready and aligned with recognised international standards

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the deployment and delivery of EHSS strategy across multiple UK sites
  • Drive compliance and continuous improvement across Environmental, Health & Safety Management Systems
  • Support and maintain ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 22301 management systems
  • Coordinate and lead internal audit programmes across multiple locations
  • Support external certification and surveillance audits
  • Conduct site inspections, compliance reviews and risk assessments
  • Lead and support incident investigations and root cause analysis activities
  • Monitor EHSS performance metrics and provide meaningful reporting to senior stakeholders
  • Drive standardisation of EHSS processes, procedures and governance frameworks
  • Support business continuity planning, resilience and crisis management activities
  • Collaborate with operational leadership teams to improve EHSS culture and performance
  • Deliver coaching, mentoring and training to managers and site teams
  • Support sustainability initiatives including environmental reporting and carbon reduction programmes
What We're Looking For

We are keen to speak with experienced EHSS professionals who have operated within manufacturing, engineering, industrial, technical, pharmaceutical, aerospace, defence, life sciences or similarly regulated environments

  • Significant experience within Environmental, Health & Safety roles
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems
  • Experience supporting or managing multi-site EHSS programmes
  • Internal auditing and compliance management experience
  • Strong understanding of UK Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
  • Experience conducting risk assessments and incident investigations
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout the UK
Qualifications
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
  • IEMA Qualified
  • IOSH Certified
Highly Desirable
  • ISO 22301 Business Continuity Management experience
  • Security risk management experience
  • Manufacturing or industrial sector background
  • Sustainability reporting experience
  • Carbon accounting knowledge including Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions
  • Experience with CDP, EcoVadis or ESG reporting frameworks
