Job summary

Mercury Support, a fast-moving consultancy specialising in food safety and health & safety for hospitality, education and healthcare, seeks an Environmental Health Practitioner for a permanent, full-time role. Hybrid work from Birchwood Park (Warrington) with national travel; salary dependent on experience.

You will advise diverse clients, from indie bars to universities and hospitals, build trusted relationships, and manage your own projects with flexibility.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Supporting a diverse mix of hospitality, education, and healthcare clients, from indie bars to multi-site brands, universities, and hospitals
• Delivering expert advice on food safety and health & safety compliance
• Helping clients improve standards
• Getting out and about (this is not your average desk job!)
• Managing your own schedule and projects with the trust and flexibility to do great work
• Travelling nationally when needed (so a full UK driving licence is essential)

What We’re Looking For

• A qualified Environmental Health Practitioner with solid knowledge of current legislation and best practice
• Ideally, some local authority enforcement experience (though we know great people come from all backgrounds)
• A brilliant communicator who can build trust and lasting relationships with clients
• Organised, proactive, and adaptable — able to juggle multiple projects with ease
• Someone who’s comfortable travelling and occasionally working outside the usual 9–5
• A proven track record of thriving in a fast-paced, people-first environment
