Environmental Health Officer/Higher certificate Opportunity – Essex (Food & Health & Safety)

Good morning,

Our client in Essex is seeking an Environmental Health Officer to take personal responsibility for a full range of Food and health and safety enforcement casework.

This role requires a strong understanding of the Food Act and Health and Safety at Work Act legislation, together with the ability to manage complex correspondence efficiently—ensuring all work is completed within set deadlines and aligned with the Council’s objectives.

This is a full-time hybrid role (approximately 36 hours per week), primarily remote with on-site and office attendance as required.

Responsibilities
  • Take personal responsibility for a full range of Food and health and safety enforcement casework.
Qualifications

To be considered, candidates must:

  • Demonstrate the competencies required for Inspection of Food Establishments (Cluster 4).
  • Hold at least 10 hours of Food Core CPD in line with the currentFood Law Code of Practice and Practice Guidance.
Pre-Contract Documentation

Before the contract commences, Buckingham Futures will need to hold copies of your:

  • Relevant qualifications
  • CPD certificates
  • Registration with EHORB/EHRB (or equivalent)

This position is offered on an hourly-paid basis.
