Chelmsford City Council is looking for an enthusiastic Environmental Health Officer to join our Business Compliance Team. Working across Food Safety and Health & Safety enforcement, this is a great opportunity to be part of a dedicated and passionate team of professionals which offers a positive environment for staff development, including support for recent Environmental Health graduates.
This role involves carrying out food and health and safety inspections, responding to service requests and advising businesses in line with the Statutory Food Law Code of Practice. Competency in food safety is therefore essential for the role alongside the possession of a degree or diploma in Environmental Health.
We take pride in providing the highest standards of customer service and the successful applicant will need to have the full range of communication and organisational skills to manage what will be a diverse and demanding workload. A full driving licence is required for this post, and the nature of the work means that some activities may need to be undertaken outside of standard working hours.
