Job summary

Nottingham City Council is seeking an Environmental Health Professional to work in the Environmental Health and Safer Places team, largely in Environmental Protection. You will investigate commercial noise complaints, assess development proposals for EP issues, and lead on a small number of Permitted premises investigations.

If you are not fully qualified yet but on the path to becoming an EHP, consider the Graduate EH Specialist role running in parallel.

Qualifications

• A degree, diploma or other relevant qualification in Environmental Health and EHRB registration.
• Experience in Environmental Protection.
• Knowledge of EP legislation and its application.

Responsibilities

• Investigate commercial noise complaints and assess EP issues in development proposals.
• Lead on a small number of Permitted premises investigations and related EP tasks.
• Support other environmental health investigations as required.
• Collaborate with the team on wider Environmental Health projects.

Working Hours: 37 Hours per week - Flexible working with some limited out of normal office hours working from time to time

Worker Type: Hybrid Worker

Salary: Starting Salary is £42,123 (Level one) rising to £45,529 (Level four) per annum (pro rata for part time)

About the Role

We are looking for one qualified Environmental Health Professional to work in the Environmental Health and Safer Places team (largely Environmental Protection). You will be investigating commercial noise complaints, assessing new development proposals for EP related issues, leading on a small number of Permitted premises and a range of other investigations. If you are not fully qualified but well on the path to becoming an EHP you may wish to consider our Graduate EH Specialist role which is running parallel to this job advertisement. About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• A degree, diploma or other relevant qualification in Environmental Health and be registered with the EHRB or as a Registered/Chartered EHP
• Experience in working within Environmental Protection
• Knowledge of EP related legislation and it's application
• Good IT skills and ability to manage a diverse workload effectively
