This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance work across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air‑Conditioning (MEH), cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station’s vast network of rooms.

The role

As an Environmental Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Being part of the MEH Alliance working on Hinkley Point C is a chance to be involved in a major project with national significance. You’ll help ensure the commissioning process is carried out in a way that protects the environment and supports a sustainable future.

This is a permanent role, based at Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, Somerset. Working hours are 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Day‑to‑day responsibilities

• Creating, maintaining and improving environmental safety controls across the commissioning programme
• Producing performance reports and identifying trends, risks and solutions
• Supporting regulatory interfaces and environmental incident management
• Conducting inspections, risk assessments and assurance activities
• Engaging with stakeholders to influence and advise on environmental issues

Essential experience

• Strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement
• Understanding of environmental compliance in regulated industries
• Experience writing and reviewing environmental specifications and risk assessments
• Knowledge of UK environmental permitting and waste management frameworks

• Degree qualified (or equivalent experience) in an environmental discipline
