Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC is seeking an Environmental Engineer at the Springfields site to provide day-to-day environmental support across manufacturing, maintenance and operations. The role focuses on permit compliance, environmental risk identification and practical controls implemented alongside plant teams.

You will spend significant time in operational areas, performing inspections, supporting corrective actions and helping maintain environmental performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, engineering, chemical, energy or nuclear sectors.
• Experience supporting environmental compliance activities.
• Strong investigation and problem-solving skills.
• ISO 14001 knowledge or certification preferred.
• Waste management knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day environmental support to manufacturing, maintenance and operations.
• Participate in plant walkdowns and inspections to identify environmental risks.
• Support implementation of environmental controls and corrective actions.
• Assist with environmental reporting, permit compliance and monitoring activities.
• Support inspections and audits of environmental systems and processes.
• Manage radioactive and conventional waste streams and waste minimisation efforts.
• Investigate environmental events, perform root cause analysis and track corrective actions.
• Identify opportunities to improve environmental performance and procedures.

As the Environmental Engineer you will provide day-to-day environmental support to manufacturing, maintenance and operational teams across the Springfields site.

You will focus on ensuring compliance with permit requirements, supporting operational activities, identifying environmental risks and implementing practical solutions that maintain environmental performance.

You will spend significant time within operational areas working directly alongside plant teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Support

• Provide environmental support to operational and maintenance teams.
• Participate in plant walkdowns and inspections.
• Identify environmental risks and support corrective actions.
• Support operational teams in implementing environmental controls.

Compliance & Monitoring

• Assist with environmental reporting and permit compliance activities.
• Monitor compliance with permit conditions and environmental standards.
• Support environmental inspections and audits.Waste & Resource Management
• Support management of radioactive and conventional waste streams.
• Assist with waste minimisation initiatives.
• Support compliance with waste management requirements.Incident Investigation
