FCC Environment is seeking a Communication Education Outreach Officer in Essex. The role focuses on promoting environmental awareness and waste reduction through community, school, and business engagement. It involves managing the Community Benefit Plan, delivering programs, and reporting on outcomes.

The officer will work with local councils and charities to improve recycling and educate the public while supporting campaigns and events across the region. The position is full-time with benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience planning or delivering environmental education.
• Proven track record of delivering to defined KPIs.
• Understanding of budgeting and financial basics.
• Excellent administration and organisational skills.
• Confident presenter with strong communication skills.
• Ability to work with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage the annual Community Benefit Plan and produce reports.
• Ensure community benefit commitments are delivered to a high standard.
• Manage funds for community engagement and environmental initiatives.
• Promote waste reduction and the Waste Hierarchy locally.
• Support Council in improving recycling performance.
• Produce reports, presentations and educational materials.
• Arrange and deliver waste education roadshows, school visits, and community events.
• Assist with news articles and social media content.
