Job summary

The Lanes Group plc is seeking an Environmental Specialist to support and improve environmental performance across operations in the UK. You will advise on compliance with legislation, permits, and client requirements, and help promote sustainable working practices across the business.

You will work with operational teams, regulators, and clients to minimise environmental impact, drive carbon reduction, and support ESG and sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in Environmental, Sustainability, HSEQ, or Compliance roles.
• Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and compliance requirements.
• Experience supporting environmental management systems, preferably ISO 14001.
• Experience conducting environmental audits, inspections, and investigations.
• Ability to analyse data and produce reports and recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist environmental advice across all business divisions.
• Monitor compliance with legislation, permits, licences, and client requirements.
• Support maintenance and improvement of the Environmental Management System (ISO 14001).
• Monitor environmental KPIs, incidents, trends, and improvement actions.
• Conduct site inspections and environmental assessments across locations.
• Investigate environmental incidents and identify corrective actions.
• Engage with regulators, clients, and external agencies on environmental issues.
• Support sustainability programmes and ESG commitments.
