Job summary

Mace is delivering the Sizewell C project in the UK and seeks an Environmental Lead to support the SZC team. The role focuses on ISO14001 compliance, audits, and environmental assurance across early works and main construction.

You will work with regulators and internal teams to embed sustainability, provide input on environmental permits, and guide site activities toward safe, compliant delivery.

Qualifications

• Understanding of environmental permits, licences and consents.
• Strong problem solving and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
• Stakeholder engagement across multiple levels.
• Attention to detail to drive work through to completion.
• Knowledge of sustainability and related processes.
• Experience with EMS standards and regulatory requirements.
• Experience on large infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Deputise for Environmental Arrangements Lead.
• Support SZC ISO14001 accreditation and audits.
• Develop arrangements and plans for compliance on construction site.
• Ensure environmental requirements are included in work packages.
• Support incident reporting, design change and procurement.
• Perform environmental inspections and report on performance.
• Be a site contact for the SZC Environmental Management System.
• Support wider environmental consenting and assurance functions.
