Job summary

Scottish Water seeks a Technical Specialist Advisor (Environment) to provide expert environmental guidance across a diverse portfolio of capital and operational projects in Scotland. You will identify risks early, influence project development, and secure essential environmental permissions while protecting biodiversity and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

Degree-level qualification in an environmental discipline or equivalent experience.
Experience assessing environmental risks across infrastructure, utilities, construction or land-based projects.
Strong understanding of Scottish environmental legislation, policy and consenting requirements.
Experience managing specialist surveys, consultants or technical workstreams.

Responsibilities

Provide expert environmental guidance across a diverse portfolio of projects in Scotland.
Identify environmental constraints, risks and opportunities early in project development.
Secure licences, consents and permissions from regulators and stakeholders.
Advise on mitigation measures and opportunities to enhance biodiversity and environmental performance.
Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support project delivery.
