Job description
Position Overview

Environmental Health Manager (RP0139). Starting salary £55,051 pa with progression to £58,445 pa through annual increments subject to satisfactory service. 37 hours per week (hybrid working).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide effective operational and tactical management to the environmental health team for functions as required by the Regulatory Services Manager.
  • Deliver and continuously improve services and collaborate with colleagues, members and partners to support the implementation of objectives in the Council Plan.
  • Maintain an awareness of developments in the environmental health field and in associated legislation and make the necessary proposals to ensure continuing compliance with statute and best practice, whilst meeting member and public aspirations.
  • Ensure that all service objectives, targets and service levels are understood, monitored and performed by all members of the team.
  • Develop a commercial aptitude within the team, where possible generating income for service delivery.
  • Assist in the management of the Environmental Health service and in the formulation of policy and the development of service initiatives.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Enthusiastic and capable professional with proven experience in service delivery and management.
  • Track record of seeing complex cases through to conclusion and seeking service improvements.
  • Leadership, critical thinking and a passion for improving services for the community.
  • UK driving licence and access to a car; role is politically restricted.
