Job summary

Anglian Water's @one Alliance is seeking an Environmental & Sustainability Advisor to support the delivery of major infrastructure transformations. The role is hybrid, covering Peterborough/Norwich with hybrid working arrangements.

You will ensure environmental compliance, prepare and review documentation, and drive sustainability initiatives across Water Recycling projects while supporting the Environment & Sustainability Managers in achieving strategic priorities.

Qualifications

• Experience enforcing environmental legislation and Alliance standards on construction sites.
• Ability to produce site-specific environmental documentation.
• Competence in reviewing environmental documentation and providing onsite support.
• Familiarity with sustainability initiatives within infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead on environmental and sustainability issues for Water Recycling projects.
• Ensure compliance with legislation and Alliance standards on site.
• Develop and communicate project documentation to relevant personnel.
• Promote best practices to reduce energy, water use, and waste on site.

Environmental & Sustainability Advisor

Location: Hybrid - Peterborough/Norwich with Hybrid working.

Help lead one of the UK's most ambitious infrastructure transformations.

We're the @one Alliance - a ground-breaking collaboration between Anglian Water and seven industry-leading partners: Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska and SWECO. Together, we deliver over half of Anglian Water's capital investment programme.

Working in AMP8 , our most ambitious period yet, we'll be delivering an even broader range of innovative and environmentally-driven infrastructure projects - from urban drainage to nature-based solutions like constructed wetlands.

To ensure we can outperform against the Anglian Water business plan, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Environmental & Sustainability Advisor to join us and lead on our Water Recycling projects across the region responsible for the delivery of a capital investment programme.

What will you be doing as our new Environmental & Sustainability Advisor?

To ensure construction activities comply with environmental legislation and @one Alliance standards by preparing and reviewing environmental documentation, providing onsite support to construction teams, and driving environmental performance. The role also involves identifying and promoting sustainability initiatives, while supporting the Environment and Sustainability Managers in achieving strategic priorities.

What does it take to be successful?

We are looking for someone who can lead on and provide support to construction projects on environmental and sustainability issues, including producing site-specific project documentation and communicating this to the relevant personnel.

You’ll also be required to ensure compliance with current environmental legislation and promote best practices relevant to @one Alliance.

Commercial Awareness to be able to drive sustainable behaviours on site including (but not limited to) reducing energy and water use, and minimising waste.

Working collaboratively across the @one Alliance contract will be essential to ensure requirements of the AMS are delivered at appropriate DM stages.
