Job summary

Qualifications

• Must possess a Juris Doctorate (J.D.).
• Must be a member in good standing of the Ohio Bar or be able to become so within 6 months of appointment.
• Degree must be from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education through the North Central Association or equivalent region.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel and representation to the City and its departments, boards, officials and employees.
• Perform legal research and draft memoranda, pleadings, briefs, contracts, ordinances and regulations for the City.
• Handle criminal and traffic prosecutions in Municipal Court as needed.
• Render oral and written opinions before municipal and state courts and manage negotiations and settlements.
