Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Dungannon is seeking a candidate to assist in the building and wiring of automated machinery and robotic systems. This position offers full training in automation and robotics in a supportive environment. Responsibilities include installation support, testing, and prototype work. Prior experience with hand tools, a genuine interest in engineering, and the ability to learn new skills are desirable. This role is temporary, requiring up to 25 hours per week with flexible hours possible.

Qualifications

  • Competence and curiosity in automation and robotics are crucial.
  • Full training in automation and robotics provided.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in building and wiring automated machinery and robotic systems.
  • Support installation & commissioning of new machines on customer sites.
  • Assist with field service & installation work on food production equipment.
  • Learn and support testing, calibration, and basic fault-finding.
  • Assist with control panels, wiring, and robot setup under supervision.
  • Occasional fabrication and fitting of stainless components.
  • Support work on prototype machines and automation systems.

Skills

Competent with hand tools
Genuine interest in engineering, machinery, automation or robotics
Ability to learn and develop new technical skills
PLC, robotics or automation exposure
Control panel wiring or machine assembly experience
Maintenance / servicing background
Food or industrial environment experience
Welding or fabrication basics
Working knowledge of SolidWorks or similar CAD software
Full UK or EU driving licence
