OT Security Architect – Operational Technology

Hybrid role based in Lancashire or Greater Manchester.

Salary & Benefits

£90k base salary with 10.5% bonus, £4.2k car allowance, private health care, pension contribution 14% by the company to a total of 21%, increasing holiday package, and a whole range of other benefits.

Role Overview

Operational Technology (OT) Security Architect needed to design the security architecture for OT across a North West based Enterprise level Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) organisation. OT in this role could be Manufacturing systems, Telecoms networks, SCADA engineering, IoT, IIoT, smart metering, telemetry, utilities, baggage handling systems, etc. Your primary purpose is to develop enterprise security architecture and supporting policies, guidance in support of the information and cyber‑physical security strategy, ensuring the CNI organisation is resilient against security threats.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide architecture leadership and set direction for OT security.
• Establish secure‑by‑design principles for OT and create benchmarks for other architects.
• Advise the business and technology teams on state of security architecture, assure designs from third parties, and participate in the architecture review board.
• Work on high‑level designs and produce HLDs.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders, providing security direction and guidance.

Qualifications & Expertise

• Securing enterprise IT environments, cloud security, and network security.
• Securing Operational Technology.
• Strong documentation skills for security designs, policies, and procedures.
• Cybersecurity tooling and familiarity with security tools and technologies.
• Azure Cloud or other cloud technology expertise.

Additional Experience

Experience working in Telecoms or CNI or regulated environments with knowledge of operational technology or IoT/IIoT would be helpful.
