Job description

Group IT is a newly forming department following the creation of the Quanta Group and changes to the way services are provided to subsidiary companies. Group IT will provide Corporate IT services across all group companies and manage the IT service provision from third‑party providers.

This role will own the development of the Group’s data platforms — including data lake, data warehouse, and analytics tooling — with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Fabric and modern cloud‑based data engineering practices. It will ensure data integrity, quality, lineage, and accessibility, enabling the business to derive meaningful insight and value from its data assets.

This is both a strategic and hands‑on role: the Enterprise Data Manager will shape the roadmap, define the architecture, and also lead the technical build of the Group’s data warehouse and associated data pipelines. Working closely with technology, operations, and business stakeholders, the role will embed strong data governance, drive adoption of data standards, and support the development of a data‑driven culture.

Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Data Strategy & Roadmap
  • Define the enterprise data strategy and multi-year roadmap aligned to Group objectives.
  • Establish the vision for data platforms, governance, architecture, and analytics capabilities.
  • Ensure data initiatives support regulatory, operational, and commercial priorities.
Data Architecture & Standards
  • Design and own the enterprise data architecture, including data models, integration patterns, and platform design.
  • Establish and maintain data standards, taxonomies, and metadata frameworks.
  • Ensure architectural decisions support scalability, security, and interoperability across Group companies.
Data Governance & Integrity
  • Implement and lead data governance across the Group, including policies, controls, and stewardship models.
  • Define and monitor data quality rules, lineage, and integrity processes.
  • Work with business teams to ensure data ownership, accountability, and compliance.
Data Platforms & Tooling
  • Own the Group’s data platforms, including lakes, warehouses, and analytics environments.
  • Lead the adoption and optimisation of Microsoft Fabric (or equivalent modern data‑lakehouse tooling.)
  • Manage platform performance, security, access, and lifecycle.
Data Engineering & Delivery
  • Build and maintain the enterprise data warehouse, including ingestion pipelines, transformation logic, and modelling.
  • Develop robust, scalable data pipelines using modern engineering practices.
  • Support advanced analytics, reporting, and data science initiatives.
Enabling Business Value from Data
  • Partner with business teams to identify opportunities to leverage data for insight, automation, and improved decision making.
  • Provide guidance on data-driven initiatives, KPIs, and analytical use cases.
  • Promote a culture of data literacy and responsible data usage.
Risk, Compliance & Security
  • Ensure data platforms and processes meet regulatory and security requirements.
  • Maintain data-related risk registers and support audit activity.
  • Work closely with Information Security on data protection and access controls.
Specialist Skills, Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
  • Strong experience defining and delivering enterprise data strategies.
  • Experience with Wealth Management systems and data.
  • Deep understanding of data architecture, modelling, and governance frameworks.
  • Hands‑on experience building data warehouses and data pipelines.
  • Experience with modern data‑lake technologies — ideally Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Lake, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of data integrity, quality tooling, and metadata management.
  • Ability to translate business needs into data solutions and actionable insights.
  • Strong organisational and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work across multiple teams and business units.
Desirable:
  • A background in IT operations and an understanding of IT Infrastructure, Cloud, and M365 environments.
  • Experience in a multi-entity or group environment.
