Job description
Introduction

At RSA, we believe insurance is about people, not things. We provide our inspiring colleagues the support and opportunity to grow together, shape the future, and win as a team. We are going through a transformation journey, providing our people with opportunity to be integral to improving our service and delivering better products to brokers and customers. We are a proud member of the Intact family, we feel part of something bigger, with a presence in North America, the UK and Europe.

We have a bold ambition to become the best Commercial Lines business in the UK, demonstrated by our recent acquisition of NIG and Farmweb, allowing us to scale by leveraging our combined financial strength and importantly ensure our people feel the benefits of our joint capabilities.

We are currently recruiting for an Enterprise Data Architect to join our established and experienced Chief Information Office team here at RSA on a hybrid basis.

Your Role

RSA is undergoing a bold transformation to become the UK’s leading commercial lines insurer, and data is at the heart of this ambition. We are implementing a demanding enterprise-wide data strategy that requires leadership, expertise and commitment to excellence. This role is pivotal in shaping and delivering a connected, managed enterprise data architecture that enables the vision for a winning data-driven business.

As Enterprise Data Architect, you will play a key role in designing and evolving the enterprise data blueprint, ensuring it aligns with business goals and future capabilities. You will work closely with the Head of Data Strategy & Data Architecture and act yourself as a thought leader - influencing the direction of data architecture across the organization and contributing to the long-term success of RSA’s data transformation.

This role combines strategic outlook with hands-on ownership. You will lead data impact assessments, update architectural blueprints, be responsible for subject areas in the Enterprise Data Model, and provide expert guidance to projects and initiatives across the company. Collaboration will be central - with fellow architects, the Chief Data Office, a wide range of business and technical stakeholders, and international colleagues across the Intact family - to ensure alignment, buy-in and delivery of cohesive data solutions.

About You

In the role, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Assess enterprise data requirements and translate them into actionable data guidance.
  • Lead data architecture engagement across delivery portfolios, driving data planning and high-level design.
  • Define and apply data methodologies, patterns and standards for key capabilities such as data modelling, master and reference data management, data integration and the development of a cloud data platform
  • Partner with the Chief Data Office to enable a connected data capability end to end.
  • Lead and inspire teams, formally or informally, providing vision, structure and support.
  • Mentor colleagues in best practices and champion the evolving data culture of the company.

We are also looking for the following skills:

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Comfortable navigating diverse perspectives and challenging conversations, with professionalism, respect and composure.
  • Enterprise Data Leadership: Demonstrated hands-on experience in enterprise data architecture and data management, with solid understanding of data protection, software design and solution delivery.
  • Team Leadership: Ability to lead teams toward impactful outcomes and shared success, with experience in managing resourcing, supporting team processes and scaling capacity through staff augmentation.
Technical Skills -
  • Data Modelling: Hands-on experience with data modelling tools e.g. Erwin is required
  • Data Cataloguing: Experience with an enterprise data catalog, MS Purview is preferred
  • Cloud & Analytics Stack: Working knowledge of the Microsoft stack; Azure cloud, Databricks, Power BI; Azure ML and AI trends.
  • Architecture Management: Experience with architecture asset management processes and tools.

At RSA we put our people first. We have adopted hybrid working as standard, to give you a better work/life balance and an excellent flexible working mindset. That is on top of a comprehensive range of benefits, including pension contributions of up to 11% looking after you now, and in the future.
