Job summary

Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a General Practitioner with Extended Role (GPwER) in ENT in Ellesmere Port. The post is salaried, part-time, and involves 6 sessions per week with flexible hours and annualised scheduling.

The GPwER will triage referrals, provide guidance to primary care, and contribute to service development and teaching of staff and trainees. DBS and GMC revalidation are required, with opportunities to be involved in audit and quality improvement.

Qualifications

• GP must be on the General Practitioner Register with a completed CCT.
• Be on the NHSE Performers List and not suspended.
• Enhanced DBS with Barred List clearance.
• GMC revalidation and NHS appraisal.
• Specialist ENT registration or within 6 months of admission to the register.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, treat and follow-up ENT patients.
• Triages referrals and provides Advice & Guidance to primary care.
• Perform micro-suction and flexible nasal endoscopy as appropriate.
• Arrange investigations including imaging and blood tests as indicated.
• Collaborate with specialist services for onward referral and holistic care.
• Lead clinical education and support quality reviews and MDT activities.
