Job summary

pladis is hiring an Enrober Machine Operator for the G Plant B shift in Carlisle. The role involves overseeing fully coated chocolate lines, driving efficiency, and maintaining high safety and housekeeping standards.

You will operate within a collaborative team, with opportunities to develop line skills and contribute to Supply Chain Excellence. Expect a structured shift pattern, Monday to Friday, with competitive pay and benefits.

Salary: £32,278.03 Working Hours: Monday - Friday 6am - 2pm 2pm - 10pm Location: Carlisle, 54 Church Street, Cumbria, CA2 5TG

What will this role achieve?

Reporting to the Team Manager the successful candidate will demonstrate a willingness to work in a team environment, possess a positive attitude to change and have the drive and tenacity to work under their own initiative.

• to ensure the smooth operation of Chocolate operation for a fully coated product and to ensure adherence to all quality and safety standards.
• To maximise plant efficiency and to minimise TOS and waste.
• To ensure housekeeping and hygiene standards are maintained.
• To develop line skills in line with company best practice.
• Provide a strong and co-ordinated link with all production processes on the line.
• Take an active part in Supply Chain Excellence including tiered meetings and the SCE boards.

What will be your key deliverables?

• To ensure plant start-up and shut-down are properly planned and performed.
• To achieve planned output within specification.
• To maximise plant efficiency and to minimise TOS and waste.
• To ensure housekeeping and hygiene standards are maintained.
• To develop line skills in line with company best practice.
• Provide a strong and co-ordinated link with all production processes on the line.
• Take an active part in Supply Chain Excellence including tiered meetings and the SCE boards.

Essential

• The successful candidate will demonstrate initiative, a supportive attitude to work and the ability to convey their skills and knowledge to work colleagues.
• Strong communication skills are essential in ensuring liaison with a wide range of site personnel and functions.
• You will have a good attendance record and will demonstrate a flexible approach and willingness to drive change within our operational environment.
• Employees will need to be able to work in line with the pladis Flexible working arrangements.

What does the recruitment process consist of?

• Assessments – Swift Comprehensive Aptitude assessment along with a Workplace English assessment. These should take around 45– 60 minutes to complete.
• Interview – 45-60 minute competency-based interview based on our company values and your experience. If you are an internal candidate - depending on your current role, you may not be required to complete the assessment.
