Job description
Enhanced Practitioner – Breast Imaging Unit

Working full time: 37.5 hours per week.

Role Overview

We are looking for an Enhanced Practitioner to undertake x‑ray guided interventional procedures and all aspects of mammography. The unit consists of three GE Pristina X‑ray rooms with tomosynthesis and CESM capabilities, and three GE ultrasound rooms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all aspects of mammography and carry out X‑ray guided core biopsies and localisations.
  • Use motivational skills to gain informed consent, sustaining cooperation for x‑ray guided biopsy and localisation.
  • Adapt communication skills, being sensitive to differing emotional needs of the patient.
  • Outline reasons for biopsy/localisation.
  • Carry out imaging during screening, symptomatic and screening assessment clinics.
  • Use specialist x‑ray equipment safely.
  • Take an active role in the development of departmental protocols.
  • Undertake postgraduate development.
  • Uphold the Data Protection Act and patient confidentiality Trust rules.

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services to West Cheshire and to Welsh patients covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.
