Job description

English Teacher – Long‑Term Cover (Potential Permanent Role)

Location: Bury, North Manchester – excellent transport links via bus and tram.
Start Date: November 3rd.
Agency: Aspire People.
Pay: £150 – £220 per day as cover, with permanent pay to scale.

Key Details

• Hours: Monday – Thursday: 7:30 am – 3:00 pm, Friday: 7:30 am – 1:00 pm.
• Potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and inspiring English lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
• Plan, prepare, and assess lessons to meet the needs of all students.
• Manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment.
• Support students’ progress and achievement in English.
• Collaborate with the wider faculty team to enhance teaching and learning.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience teaching English at secondary school level is essential.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is ideal, but we will consider experienced teachers without QTS.
• A genuine passion for teaching English and helping students succeed.
• A team‑oriented approach to working within the faculty and wider school community.
• Adaptable and enthusiastic, with the ability to engage and inspire students in a variety of learning environments.
