SEN School in Basingstoke - ASC

Academics are recruiting on behalf of an all-through SEN school in Basingstoke, which provides education and care for 128 young people between the ages of 5 to 16, with a primary diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC). They are looking to appoint a dynamic and engaging English Teacher to join their successful team.

This is a full-time, permanent contract starting ASAP/January 2026.

The school in Basingstoke was built for purpose in 2021 with specialist classrooms and extensive external grounds. Their aim is to provide opportunities for all children to thrive, reach their potential and have the skills necessary to overcome barriers.

As an English Teacher joining an SEN school, you will be required to plan and deliver exciting English lessons that meet the individual learning needs of the children. Class sizes are small so you are able to achieve this. Their curriculum has been designed to support students to achieve their best possible outcomes by combining academic studies with key life skills.

The successful English Teacher will:

  • Be a dynamic and engaging SEN specialist, coming from a background of teaching students with SEN either in an SEN or mainstream setting.
  • Be a hardworking and dedicated English specialist teacher that strives for the best outcomes for all learners
  • Be looking for the freedom to plan and deliver lessons tailored to meet students individual needs.
  • Be based in Basingstoke, or be happy to commute to Basingstoke daily for work
