English Teacher- Corwen
We are urgently seeking a dedicated and inspirational Teacher of English to join our school in the beautiful market town of Corwen, Denbighshire. This is an exciting opportunity to foster a love of language, literature, and communication in our students.
Location: Corwen, Denbighshire (Postcode area: LL21)
Salary: £150- £220 per day (based on experience)
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Exceptional Subject Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging English Language and Literature lessons across all key stages (e.g., Key Stage 3, GCSE, A-Level) in line with the Welsh curriculum and specifications.
- Assessment and Feedback: Mark and assess pupil's work accurately and productively, providing high-quality written and oral feedback to ensure pupils make excellent progress.
- Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development of the English curriculum, resources, and schemes of work to enhance learning and maintain departmental excellence.
- Classroom Management: Establish a positive, safe, and stimulating learning environment, managing pupil behaviour effectively to ensure a supportive atmosphere for all.
- Wider School Life: Undertake pastoral duties (such as acting as a form tutor), attend staff meetings, and participate in school extra‑curricular activities and professional development (CPD).
- Statutory Compliance: Adhere to all school policies, especially those relating to safeguarding, child protection, and health and safety.
Skills Needed
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is mandatory.
- Demonstrable passion for teaching and raising student aspirations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to upholding the highest standards of professional conduct and safeguarding.
