Job summary

The Tower School, part of Outcomes First Group in Epping, Essex, is seeking an enthusiastic English Teacher and Reading Lead to join our specialist education team. This role combines classroom teaching with strategic leadership to foster a whole-school reading culture that empowers students to reach their potential.

You will deliver engaging English lessons, support diverse learners, and champion reading initiatives that develop literacy skills for success in education and beyond.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent required.
• Experience teaching English across relevant key stages.
• Passionate about literacy, reading and language development.
• Ability to inspire and engage students who may have faced barriers to learning.
• Strong classroom management and behaviour support strategies.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Committed to delivering outstanding outcomes for young people.

Location: The Tower School, Epping, CM16 4BA

Hours: 37.5 per week | Monday to Friday

Salary: Up to £43,000 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)

Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only

Start: November 2026
