Overview

English Teacher
Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting for a full or part time position (3 or 4 days a week) at an exceptional private school on the outskirts of York. The role starts 12th January and lasts until 30th June in the first instance, with the potential for permanent placement if the candidate enjoys the placement and performs well. Salary is between £32,916 and £51,047 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Working hours are 8:30‑4:30, with a mandatory training session until 6:30 PM one day per week.

The school is located approximately 10 miles from York and is commutable from North Yorkshire and Harrogate. Due to the rural location, the school is most easily accessible by car, with limited public transport options available.

You will work with a strong department that links to languages and EAL teaching, allowing you to grow your pedagogy from different teaching styles.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging English lessons to Key Stage 3 and 4 pupils. There is potential for Key Stage 5 teaching, either now or in the future. The school is interested in hearing from ECTs and would be able to put through 2 terms of ECT while on this contract.

Qualifications and Requirements

• PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification
• Experience teaching English to at least Key Stage 4
• Experience working within schools in the UK
• Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
• CV must cover full CV history
• Legal right to work in the UK
