Job summary

Buckler’s Mead Academy in Yeovil, Somerset is seeking a dedicated English teacher to lead KS3 and KS4 lessons. This is a permanent, full-time post starting from April 2027, with a supportive department and strong student outcomes in a growing academy.

The successful candidate will be passionate about English, committed to professional development, and capable of working with staff, external agencies and partner schools within the Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership.

An exciting opportunity for anexperienced teacher, or someone new to the profession, to teach KS3 and KS4 Englishat this successful and growing academy from April 2027. This is a permanent, full-time post.

Having sustained another “outstanding”set of results in Summer 2026, and following on from our Ofsted visit in May2024, where we were judged as a strong ‘Good’ in all areas, Buckler’s MeadAcademy is going from strength to strength.

Englishis a subject highly regarded by staff and students of Buckler’s MeadAcademy. Over recent years, the subjecthas seen rapid improvements in KS4 outcomes alongside curriculum and teachingdevelopments. The English Department isa well led, highly supportive and cohesive team. We are looking for a candidate who ispassionate about their subject and eager to make a genuine difference to ourstudents.
