About the Role

Remedy Education is currently recruiting a dedicated and passionate English Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Wickford. This is a full-time position, ideal for a teacher who is enthusiastic about inspiring students to develop a love for English language and literature.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging and high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students achieve their academic potential and build essential communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver dynamic English lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Teach both English Language and Literature to a range of abilities across KS3 and KS4.
  • Create a stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity and creativity.
  • Assess, record, and report on student progress and attainment.
  • Support students in developing strong literacy and analytical skills.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop engaging schemes of work and resources.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, achievement, and effort.
  • Uphold safeguarding and child protection standards at all times.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching English at secondary school level (KS3-KS4).
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for English Language and Literature.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to helping every pupil reach their full potential.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
