Overview

Are you a passionate and adaptable English Teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people?

We're seeking a dedicated English Teacher to join an Alternative Provision in Sandwell, working with SEN students in Years 9-11. This is a full-time position with an immediate start.

You'll be teaching a mixed cohort of GCSE English and Functional Skills English learners, supporting students who may have faced barriers to mainstream education. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, patience, and a strong commitment to helping each student achieve their potential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons to small groups of SEN learners
• Teach across GCSE and Functional Skills levels
• Plan and assess lessons in line with students' individual needs and EHCP targets
• Work collaboratively with a supportive team to create a positive, inclusive learning environment

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent
• Experience teaching English at KS4 level
• A strong understanding of SEN and strategies to support students with additional needs
• Excellent communication, organisation, and behaviour management skills
