Overview

Activate Learning are looking for an enthusiastic GCSE English teacher to join our team at Oxford College. You will teach learners studying GCSE English Language. This is a permanent, part-time position working 22.2 hours per week (0.60 FTE).

There is potential for this role to be a development opportunity for a newly qualified teacher or English graduate looking to get into teaching. You may also contribute to the development of the curriculum and resources for GCSE Language, Literature and A Level English, participate in departmental meetings, parent evenings, school events, and support extracurricular activities related to the subject area.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in departmental meetings, parent evenings and school events; support extracurricular activities or clubs related to the subject area.
What you need to be successful

We are looking for people who can act as role models for our students and ensure they leave with professional qualifications and the attributes to progress in the world of work. A genuine interest in working with and developing young people is required.

Previous teaching experience in the FE sector is an advantage but not required. If you have the qualifications or experience to teach on our courses and can demonstrate the attributes to be an inspirational teacher, Activate Learning will provide necessary training, development and support to equip you to teach in the FE sector.

For this role you will need the following:

  • A level 3 qualification in English or a related subject
  • A teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
