• Teach engaging, literature-rich lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable)
• Inspire a deep appreciation of reading, writing and critical thinking
• Use creative strategies to bring classic and contemporary texts to life
• Use assessment effectively to monitor progress, identify next steps and adapt teaching accordingly
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for every student
• Demonstrate strong behaviour management and high expectations in line with the school's behaviour policy
• Uphold professional standards and a commitment to ongoing reflection and improvement

Ideal Candidate

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Read the DfE 'Keeping Children Safe in Education' (2025 document)
• Proven experience teaching English at secondary level following the National Curriculum
• Right to Work in the UK (No Limitations)
• Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service (Child Workforce listed)
• Teaching reference checks covering the last 2 years
