Job description

Some of the terms we are offering in relation to pre‑school teacher position:

Responsibilities
  • Attend to duties by 8.30am until at least 4pm including 30 minutes lunch, on Fridays we close at 3pm;
  • Term time only;
  • Leading the EYFS curriculum across the Nursery;
  • Encouraging children’s mathematical and creative development through stories, songs, games, drawing and imaginative play;
  • Supporting the development of children’s basic skills, including physical co‑ordination, speech, communication, curiosity and knowledge;
  • Taking responsibility for the progress of children and observing, assessing and recording each child’s progress;
  • Organising the classrooms and learning resources and creating displays to encourage positive learning development;
  • Planning, preparing and presenting lessons that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within the class;
  • Attend to the personal care needs of children;
  • Attend to children with minor injuries as necessary, assisting with first aid;
  • Maintaining discipline;
  • Establish and maintain a culture of collaboration and cooperative working between colleagues;
  • Comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, welfare, security, confidentiality, and data protection, reporting any concerns to the appropriate person;
  • Show personal and professional integrity and confidentiality;
  • Attend staff meetings and Inset days;
  • In the case of emergency or staff absence, the teacher may be required to provide cover for other teacher or other colleague, as directed by Senior Management.
