Are you an English teacher who loves bringing stories, language, and ideas to life? Looking for a school where behaviour is consistent, leadership is supportive, and you’re trusted to teach well? This could be the one.

We’re working with a welcoming 11–19 secondary school that sits at the heart of its local community. The school is values-led, inclusive, and focused on helping every pupil succeed, both academically and personally. Staff work collaboratively, expectations are clear, and classrooms are calm and purposeful.

The role

You’ll be teaching English across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to work with motivated pupils in a well-established department. Planning is shared, resources are in place, and you’ll be supported by experienced colleagues who value good teaching over unnecessary paperwork.

Your role will include:

  • Teaching engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Delivering a well-sequenced curriculum with strong departmental support
  • Creating a positive, structured classroom environment
  • Assessing pupil progress and adapting teaching where needed
  • Working collaboratively within the English department and wider school team

There may be opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 for the right candidate.

What we’re looking for
  • UK QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching English in a secondary school setting
  • Strong subject knowledge and confident classroom practice
  • A calm, consistent approach to behaviour management
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply

ECTs are very welcome to apply. Support and mentoring will be available.
