GCSE English Lecturer – Temporary Position

Reed FE are working with a College in Stoke and are seeking a dedicated GCSE English Lecturer to join a dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference for students who are re‑sitting GCSE English or working at lower ability levels.

About the Role
  • Deliver engaging and inspiring lessons to GCSE English re‑sitters and lower ability learners, with the potential to also teach Functional Skills (FS) English.
  • Recognise and address barriers to learning while building positive relationships to unlock student potential.
  • Contribute to collaborative planning, resource development, and learner progress monitoring.
  • Create a safe, positive, and motivating learning environment for students who may have experienced challenges or setbacks in English.
Key Requirements
  • Teaching qualification, with experience teaching GCSE English Language.
  • Experience delivering Functional Skills English is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges and barriers learners may face.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to foster engagement and progress.
