Job summary

Harris Academy Orpington is seeking an experienced Lead Practitioner of English to drive teaching excellence and student achievement across key stages. The role requires QTS (or equivalent) and a strong track record in outstanding teaching, behaviour management, and effective feedback.

The successful candidate will lead improvement planning, monitor pupil tracking, and work with governors to raise standards. Experience in multiple schools is desirable and a commitment to school improvement.

Qualifications

• Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree, and ideally ongoing professional development
• Demonstrate outstanding teaching practice and excellent behaviour management
• Experience of lesson observations and giving robust feedback
• Experience of improvement planning and implementing strategies to raise student achievement with evidence of success
• Contribute to improving learning, teaching and curriculum
• Proven track record of excellent results at KS3 and KS4, ideally KS5
• Experience of high quality pupil tracking and feedback practices
• Experience of working with governors and in more than one school

Responsibilities
