Job summary

Pleckgate High School is seeking an experienced English and/or Drama Teacher for a full-time, permanent position. The role focuses on delivering GCSE English with strong pedagogy and promoting reading for pleasure across the school.

The successful candidate will contribute to planning, assessment, and the development of drama and language activities, including potential leadership of extra-curriculars.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching English and/or drama at secondary level.
• Ability to plan and deliver GCSE English confidently.
• Knowledge of current English pedagogy and curriculum developments.

Responsibilities

• Plan and teach the English curriculum to a high standard.
• Demonstrate secure subject knowledge in English and Drama.
• Monitor progress and differentiate for individual learners.
• Assess using formative and summative methods effectively.
• Lead extra-curricular activities in language, drama, or poetry.
