Nicholas Chamberlaine School in Bedworth is seeking a visionary Head of English to lead teaching and learning across the department, embedding Proud Traditions, Wide Horizons and High Achievement.

You will shape an ambitious, knowledge-rich curriculum from KS3 to KS5, drive improvement using data, and promote evidence-informed practice and professional dialogue. The role also offers leadership development within The Griffin Schools Trust and opportunities for collaboration and staff wellbeing.

Responsabilidades

• Establish a culture of consistently high expectations for all students and staff.
• Lead the design, implementation and refinement of an ambitious, knowledge-rich English curriculum from KS3 to KS5.
• Promote excellent teaching through evidence-informed practice, coaching and professional dialogue.
• Ensure teaching meets the needs of all learners through curriculum planning, adaptive teaching and intervention.
• Lead assessment, moderation and quality assurance to secure high standards of teaching, learning and achievement.
• Champion a culture of reading, writing and oracy with reading for pleasure and enrichment.
• Build partnerships with parents and carers to support students' progress and celebrate achievement.
• Lead, coach and develop colleagues through high-quality professional development and collaboration.
• Reflect on leadership and pursue opportunities for continual professional growth.
• Build partnerships within the school, across the Trust and with external organisations.
• Produce and implement clear improvement plans to drive excellence in English.
• Ensure departmental systems and routines enable high-quality teaching and curriculum delivery.
• Foster collaboration and accountability for student outcomes.
• Present reports on departmental performance to senior leaders, governors and parents.
• Champion the identity of the English department and its Proud Traditions, Wide Horizons and High Achievement.
• Develop meaningful student leadership and enrichment within English.
• Collaborate across the Trust to share best practice and improve outcomes.
