Job summary

A dedicated education recruitment agency is seeking an experienced English & Maths GCSE Tutor to provide tailored 1:1 and small-group tuition to secondary-aged students in Bexley. The role involves enhancing students' subject knowledge, confidence, and exam techniques through engaging lessons. Ideal candidates should have experience in tutoring at the GCSE level and possess excellent communication skills. Qualifications

• Must have a valid Enhanced DBS on Update Service (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to build positive, professional relationships with young people.
• Experience supporting students with exam anxiety or low confidence is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, personalised tuition in GCSE English and Maths.
• Support students with exam preparation, revision strategies, and coursework.
• Identify learning gaps and adapt teaching methods to support progress.
• Build students' confidence, motivation, and independent learning skills.
• Track progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents.
• Prepare students for mock exams and final GCSE assessments.

Skills

This role involves supporting students working towards GCSE English and Maths, helping them build subject knowledge, confidence, and effective exam techniques.

The successful tutor will take a student-centred and structured approach, tailoring sessions to individual learning needs and working collaboratively with families and schools to support academic progress.
