Overview

Star Refrigeration is a successful and innovative engineering company specialising in Industrial Refrigeration. We are currently looking for engineers from a range of disciplines – Mechanical, Electrical, Marine, RAF Technicians, Refrigeration and A/C – to train in Industrial Refrigeration as part of our fast‑track training programme across the UK branch network. With guided learning via one‑to‑one tuition from industry experts, a variety of accredited courses and continual on‑the‑job training alongside skilled engineers, it is possible to become an Industrial Refrigeration Engineer within 9‑12 months.

You will be working as part of our fast‑growing engineering team, supporting some of the country’s biggest refrigeration customers on a regular basis and ensuring our reputation for high quality is upheld.

Responsibilities

During the fast‑track training programme, successful candidates will be working towards competence to undertake the following:

  • Deliver high quality installation, service and maintenance work on customer sites to company engineering standards.
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety procedures and legislative compliance in all tasks undertaken.
  • Develop positive customer relationships, providing effective communication, information and guidance on site.
  • Identify opportunities to improve site safety, plant reliability and operating efficiency.
  • Work collaboratively as part of the branch team to share knowledge and deliver effectively for the customer base.
  • Take a proactive approach to continued professional development, including expanding knowledge of system components and technologies.
Qualifications

Successful applicants will have experience in diagnostic skills in their field of engineering along with an interest in industrial engineering and the drive, initiative and attitude to succeed. Our programme recruits mechanical and electrical engineers and provides fast‑track training from an industry leader, based on clear and continuous improvement plans to develop specialist refrigeration engineers.

Benefits

Engineering salary: £33,500 to £63,000, depending on competence based grading structure. Further progression can be made through a variety of roles and professional routes within the company, with opportunities to top up base earnings.
